Palacio de Bellas Artes de la República Dominicana
Santo Domingo .- The Palacio de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts) in the Dominican Republic was inaugurated on May 15, 1956 during the dictatorship of Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Molina, with a capacity of 614 seats for the exhibition of cultural and artistic events.

The Palacio de Bellas Artes houses in an area of 13000 square metres The The Theater of Fine Arts, The National School of Visual Arts, National Folkloric Ballet, National Choir, National School of Dance, the office of The National Symphony Orchestra, National Classical Ballet School Drama, Theater of Fine Arts and the National School of Dancing.


The Palacio de Bellas Artes is governed by the General Directorate of Fine Arts created by Law 311 of July 19, 1940. This body is responsible for pooling and monitoring the functioning not only of the Palace of Fine Arts but also of all institutions devoted to teaching the fine arts in their various categories.

The Palacio de Bellas Artes is dedicated to providing teaching within a building designed in the neoclassical style that awakens the students artistic skills and their interest in it.
