The sight of the northern facade reveals its battlements and loggia, a place where the ashes of Admiral "Christopher Columbus"were kept, ashes that were moved to Faro a Colon, the most precious monuments with which the Primate Cathedral of Americas is adorned are the tomb of Bishop Alessandro Geraldini and the tomb of Rodrigo de Bastidas.

In 1920 the Cathedral was promoted by Pope Benedict XV "Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Annunciation", the cathedral was created by the architect Alonso Gonzalez, inspired by the cathedral of Seville, its construction was made possible through the impetus given by Alonso de Fuenmayor.
